Whirlpool - LG Electronics v. Whirlpool - Patent Infringement
Whirlpool in the International Trade Commission in a case involving indoor ice making systems for refrigerators. After trial and post-trial briefing before both the, no violation was found. No appeal was taken in view of a favorable jury verdict and post-trial orders in a companion case involving the same patent in federal district court in the District of Delaware: after a seven-day trial, we obtained a jury verdict which found LG Electronics liable for infringing a Whirlpool patent and awarded Whirlpool $1.8 million.
