NEW YORK, October 17, 2023 – Legal trade publication Law360 recognized Baker Botts partner Hopkins Guy as an Intellectual Property MVP due to his leading role in convincing a federal judge in Utah to flip a substantial verdict against Dish Network Corp.

Jurors in Salt Lake City had previously sided with ClearPlay, ordering Dish to pay out $469 million for infringing three claims in two patents that ClearPlay owned. The judge reversed the verdict less than a month after it came down, Law360 noted.

Law360 also highlighted Guy’s role in obtaining wins for client DraftKings Inc. at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).

Guy represents clients in all phases of litigation including discovery, summary judgment, and jury and bench trials, as well as appeals before the Federal Circuit and Ninth Circuit.
