Christa Brown-Sanford Recognized as a ‘2024 MCCA Rainmaker’

DALLAS, May 16, 2024 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology, and life sciences law firm, is proud to announce that partner Christa Brown-Sanford has been recognized as a ‘2024 Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) Rainmaker.’ The 2024 Rainmakers were selected from a prestigious group of attorneys who have a proven record of compiling books of business exceeding $5 million annually and who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment and service to their communities.
Brown-Sanford is the Chair of Baker Botts’ Intellectual Property Department and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Diversity and Inclusion Committee. With an electrical engineering background and keen business sense, Christa provides guidance on patent procurement, patent portfolio development, patent litigation, and patent licensing - particularly involving telecommunications, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, software, and other cutting-edge technologies.
Actively involved in the community, she is a member of the Dallas (TX) chapter of The Links, Incorporated and the Charter 100 and serves on the boards of Southern Methodist University, SMU’s Dedman School of Law, the Baylor Scott & White Foundation, and New Friends New Life (an organization focused on empowering trafficked women and girls). She recently completed serving as the President for the Junior League of Dallas, during the League’s Centennial year.
The 2024 MCCA Rainmakers will be recognized during the annual “Creating Pathways to Diversity Conference” on Tuesday, September 24 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The MCCA is the preeminent voice on diversity, equity, and inclusion from the counsel’s office to the C-suite and across corporate America.
Among her many accolades, Brown-Sanford was also recently selected to Forbes’ inaugural ‘America’s Top 200 Lawyers’ list.
