SAN FRANCISCO, December 5, 2024 – Baker Botts San Francisco Litigation Associate Rani Reddy has partnered with Legal Services for Children in order to secure legal guardianship for two minors following their parents’ death.

In late 2023, “Sheila” (14) and “Jonathan” (16) were left without their parents and urgently needed a legal guardian. With their older sister prepared to step in, the siblings sought legal assistance to facilitate a smooth transition of care, housing, and benefits.

Through Legal Services for Children, Rani stepped forward to represent the family pro bono. In July 2024, the San Francisco Probate Court appointed their sister as the siblings' temporary guardian. Then, in November 2024, a permanent guardianship was secured, providing Sheila and Jonathan with the stability and support they needed to move forward with their lives.
