Overview

Rachel Ang is an associate in our Singapore office and a member of our Global Projects Practice. She advises regional and international clients on a wide range of energy-related transactions and projects, such as renewable energy, carbon capture and LNG.

Prior to joining Baker Botts, Rachel was at an international firm with the private equity and mergers and acquisitions department, where she represented multinational corporations, private equity funds and investment funds in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, equity investments and joint ventures.

  • A Southeast Asian National Oil Company on a review of climate change policy settings and legislation across multiple countries to summarize and present comparative analysis in the context of hydrocarbon-based business operations.
  • An APAC nation on the review and amendments of its oil and gas legislation.
  • Fluxys and Air Liquide on the Antwerp@C CO2 liquefaction project in the Port of Antwerp, Belgium.
  • Green Steel of WA Collie Pty Ltd on the development and financing of the Collie green steel recycling mill – Western Australia’s first steel mill and Australia’s first green steel mill.
  • The Confidential Sponsor on a floating solar project in Indonesia.
  • Stonepeak, a leading alternative investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets with approximately US$57.1 billion of assets under management, in the following transactions:
    • US$650 million equity investment into AGP Sustainable Real Assets, a global infrastructure and real assets developer and operator in the renewable energy, data centre, logistics and housing business.*
    • Establishment of Peak Energy, a Singapore-based platform dedicated to the development, ownership and operation of renewable assets in Asia.*
