Lance J. Goodman is a senior associate in Baker Botts' Intellectual Property Practice group. Lance has significant patent prosecution and counseling experience in the areas of medical devices, imaging devices, financial technologies, networking technologies, electro-mechanical devices, memory devices, and artificial intelligence (AI) industries within the electrical engineering, computer engineering, and electronics fields.
Lance also has experience in supporting district court litigation, ITC litigation, and post-grant proceedings before the U.S. Patent Office. He has litigation and pre-litigation experience in a variety of technologies ranging from processor and memory devices, memory devices, software as a service (SaaS) systems, and networking systems.
Prior to joining Baker Botts, Mr. Goodman was a patent associate at a large international law firm, where he prosecuted patents both domestically and in foreign jurisdictions, conducted infringement and invalidity analyses, and defended against offensive patent actions. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where he studied thin-film technologies and meta-materials at the graduate level.
