Overview

As a debt finance partner, Alex Kamel balances legal technicalities with commercial realities. He knows his bank, private equity and corporate clients need practical and rapid paths to success. To do so, Alex draws upon a holistic understanding of domestic and cross-border market trends and an in-depth understanding of what matters to each client to design a precise path forward.

Alex represents clients in a variety of industries, including energy, manufacturing and food service in domestic and cross-border commercial lending, direct lending, high-yield debt offerings, structured financing and other complex financial transactions. His work includes syndicated loans, reserve-based and asset-based facilities, asset-backed securitizations, sustainability-linked facilities, acquisition financings, mezzanine facilities, direct lending, public offerings and private placements of debt securities, restructurings and other structured financings.

Agent, Lead Arranger and Lender Representation

  • Represented agent bank and lead arranger in $2 billion syndicated, senior secured, reserve-based revolving credit facility to a public oil and gas exploration and production company.
  • Represented agent bank and lead arranger in $750 million syndicated, senior secured, reserve-based revolving credit facility utilized in part to fund an acquisition.
  • Represented agent bank and lead arranger in $500 million syndicated, senior secured, reserve-based revolving credit facility.
  • Represented direct lender in $85 million secured reserve-based term loan to a private equity-backed upstream company.
  • Represented direct lender in its capacity as secured creditor in the restructuring of upstream E&P company.

  • Represented public borrower in $5 billion syndicated, senior secured, reserve-based revolving credit facility.
  • Represented public offshore drilling borrower in $1.175 billion Rule 144A/Regulation S issuance of senior secured notes.
