Overview

Patrick McClay focuses his practice on areas of patent law including due diligence, patentability, freedom to operate, patent prosecution, post-grant proceedings, and litigation support.

Mr. McClay has particular experience in monitoring intellectual property activities by competitors and counseling clients to develop strategic patent portfolios accordingly, including through acquisition, licensing, and strategic prosecution. He is also experienced in managing complex international patent portfolios, both utility and design.

With a background in biomedical engineering, Mr. McClay's practice focuses on medical devices, particularly cardiovascular devices. He also has extensive experience in a variety of other technological fields including the mechanical arts, consumer electronics, and food packaging.
