Overview

Iain McPhie is Special Counsel in the Washington, D.C. office and a member of the Antitrust and Competition Practice.

Mr. McPhie advises and represents clients on all aspects of antitrust law, in the United States and around the world. His practice focuses on complex private antitrust and commercial litigation, as well as representation before government agencies in merger and nonmerger antitrust investigations. He has worked with clients in a variety of industries, with focuses on healthcare and manufacturing.

Mr. McPhie has published and spoken on a variety of antitrust issues. He is a member of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association and has contributed to the Antitrust Section's Antitrust Law Developments and Annual Review of Antitrust Law.

  • Representing a major life and health insurance company in numerous government investigations and private litigation matters.
  • Representing a leading manufacturer of refrigeration compressors in a DOJ criminal price-fixing investigation and in related private litigation and enforcement actions in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Representing a leading non-U.S. steel producer in private antitrust litigation challenging the exclusionary practices of a competitor.
  • Representing a major sports franchise and its affiliated ticketing company in private litigation alleging antitrust violations against a competing ticketing company.
  • Granted merger clearance for horizontal mergers and acquisitions in a variety of industries including chemicals, amusement parks and integrated circuits equipment.
