Overview

Hannah Roskey helps clients understand and adhere to environmental laws. She provides strategic advice in response to enforcement actions, administrative proceedings, regulatory rulemakings, permitting issues, and federal and state litigation. She also has significant experience in counseling clients involved in internal investigations and root causes analyses.

Prior to joining Baker Botts, Hannah worked as an attorney for seven years at a large international law firm in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In that role, she was involved in all aspects of energy and environmental regulation, litigation, and compliance. She frequently appeared before Canadian courts and administrative bodies on complex and contested matters.

  • Represented two multinational healthcare companies on regulatory and compliance issues related to ethylene oxide, which is used to sterilize medical devices
  • Represented a large manufacturing conglomerate in responding to a Department of Justice investigation related to compliance with toxic substances laws
  • Represented several companies in the aftermarket automotive parts industry in responding to enforcement actions initiated under the Clean Air Act
  • Represented a lead acid battery recycler with respect to multiple air and waste enforcement proceedings and regulatory investigations by federal and state regulators
  • Represented a hydrocarbon exploration and production company in ongoing litigation related to ownership of oil and gas assets on indigenous land
