Overview

India Whelpton's practice is focused in the energy and infrastructure space. She advises on project development; engineering, procurement and construction contracts; and mergers and acquisitions. India has specific experience in low-carbon hydrogen, clean ammonia, offshore wind and renewable fuels.

Prior to joining Baker Botts, India spent two years working at another international law firm.

  • Assisted a global investment bank in relation to the proposed financing of an infrastructure company.
  • Assisted a chemical manufacturing company with its development and financing of an ammonia project in Texas.
  • Assisted a clean energy and climate technology company in the development of an ultra-low-carbon ammonia production facility in Texas.
  • Assisted an infrastructure investor with the potential acquisition of several offshore wind farms from a U.S. utility company.
  • Assisted a global financial services group with the proposed sale of interests in a dairy RNG portfolio.
  • Assisted an energy infrastructure company with the preparation of a purchase and sale agreement for the sale of its rights, title, and interests in certain assets.
  • Assisted an oil and gas company with the preparation of a securities purchase agreement.
  • Assisted with the preparation of a turbine supply agreement between an infrastructure company and a supplier who manufactures, delivers, and commissions certain wind power generation equipment.
  • Assisted a natural gas fund with the potential acquisition of several natural gas fields in Azerbaijan.
  • Assisted an energy company with the sale of its Nigerian business, including its share in an oil field, to a Nigerian-owned company.
  • Assisted a state-owned oil and gas enterprise on the sale of a natural gas-to-syngas processing facility for US$1 billion.
