Digital and UK Antitrust

Webinar

Baker Botts in partnership with Concurrences participated in a webinar titled Digital and UK Antitrust on Monday 22 March 2021.

Speakers, including Antitrust & Competition Law Partner Matthew Levitt, discussed the role of the UK’s Competition & Markets Authority and its involvement in the global debate about antitrust and the tech sector.

The UK’s Competition & Markets Authority is at the forefront of the global debate about antitrust and the tech sector. The panel considered what challenges the tech sector presents for antitrust enforcement, whether the antitrust rules fit for purpose, how they expect digital mergers to be assessed, and whether regulation and new enforcement powers are necessary.

Joining partner Matthew Levitt were senior appeals judge Dame Vivien Rose, the CMA’s chief economist Mike Walker, and Google’s Director - EMEA Competition Oliver Bethell.
