Overview

Nathan Thibon represents clients in a variety of complex commercial disputes. His extensive practice includes contract and commercial litigation in the oil and gas industry, property disputes involving large-scale renewable energy projects, lawsuits over trade secret misappropriation and other employment matters, securities litigation, and derivative actions. He has experience in trial preparation, drafting case-dispositive motions, and oral advocacy before state court judges.

Before joining Baker Botts, Nathan served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Brian C. Buescher of the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Gilbert C. Sison of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. Through his experience in the federal judiciary, he honed his legal writing and advocacy skills and gained a comprehensive understanding of successfully litigating cases.

Nathan graduated magna cum laude with a Juris Doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis in 2021, where he was a Senior Staff Editor for the Washington University Law Review, competed in the Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Competition, and served as a teaching assistant for LLM students in his law school's legal research and writing class. He also earned the Joseph Kutten Award in Bankruptcy and admittance to the Order of the Coif. Before attending law school, Nathan graduated magna cum laude from Saint Louis University's Honors Program with degrees in Biology and History. While an undergraduate, he received the Senior Legacy Award for Outstanding Research in History and was a teaching assistant for Genetics.
