The honor is part of Lockheed Martin’s Law Firm Diversity Assessment, which it has conducted on an annual basis for the past six years. The Assessment, which ranks its top law firms’ ability to maintain a diverse talent pool, found that Baker Botts scored favorably against industry averages for its overall diversity, its staffing of Lockheed Martin matters, and for its percentage of female equity partners at the firm.

The Assessment compared diversity data provided by Baker Botts and other top law firms with industry averages and analyzed the data across the diversity dimensions of female, non-Caucasian, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered (LGBTQ+) persons, individuals with disabilities, and veteran status for the total firm in the U.S., staffing of Lockheed Martin matters, and equity partnership.

Baker Botts succeeded in increasing the percentage of hours billed by women on Lockheed Martin matters and increased the percentage of hours billed by all minorities as compared to prior years.

Baker Botts has received other recognitions for its D&I efforts. In September, the firm was recognized by Diversity Lab as Mansfield “Certified Plus” for the third year in a row. Last month, the firm was selected as a 2021 ChIPs Honor Roll Award winner as a result of its Inclusion Blueprint Leadership & IP Index Score and “Do Something Hard” commitment.
