Patent agents, technical advisors, and other IP technical staff at Baker Botts play key roles in creating valuable patent assets and assessing patent risks for our clients. We offer experience, training, and an opportunity for advancement in a variety of patent practice elements, including: analyzing and replying to examining actions of the USPTO, EPO, and other overseas patent agencies, including guiding our extensive network of international agents; preparing and refining quality new patent applications from the inventor interview to filing, with an emphasis on technically accurate yet creative patent storytelling; strategic claim drafting and analysis; FTO searches and analysis, supported by AI-based tools; portfolio analytics; and harvesting, brainstorming, and ideation sessions. You’ll work with some of the world’s newest, most challenging and sophisticated technologies and most engaging inventors, and work closely with lawyers who are masters in the field.
