Sanjay Thapar is a New York-based finance partner who leads domestic and international financing transactions for a wide range of clients particularly involving large and middle-market financing transactions.

Sanjay advises and represents financial institutions, direct lenders, credit funds and other institutional investors and private equity firms as lead arrangers, senior and junior lenders and borrowers, including in connection with acquisition and leveraged buyout financings and refinancing and recapitalization transactions. Sanjay also represents lenders in workouts, debt restructurings and debtor-in-possession and exit financings.

His extensive loan work includes syndicated, direct lender and club transactions, as well as first and second lien, asset-based, split collateral and unitranche facilities, across a variety of industries including commodities, digital assets, energy, governmental services, manufacturing, oil and gas, retail and trucking and transportation. Sanjay has worked on cross-border transactions with entities organized in Canada, the European Union, Mexico, Singapore, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
