Baker Botts' Senior Advisor, Dr. Leigh Hancher, will be moderating the second session of the 2nd Energy & Competition Law Forum which will take place online on 13th, 14th and 15th June 2022.
The aim of this conference is to bring together experts from the legal field, authorities and business to discuss the ever growing role of Competition law in the energy sectors and discuss recent as well as fundamental questions.
On Tuesday 14 June 2022 15:30 - 17:00 CEST Leigh will be moderator for the following panel: Phasing out Fossils: Can the Proposed CEEAG Make a Real Difference?
This panel will look at the Commission’s plans to wield EU state aid policy and law as a series of sticks and carrots to transition the European economy out of fossil fuels. Is state policy a suitable and effective instrument? Are the proposals sufficiently targeted to make a real difference? How effectively can these rules be enforced in practice?
