Overview

Whitney Crayton's real estate practice focuses on retail, office and industrial leasing as well as the acquisition, development, management and sale of commercial properties. Prior to joining Baker Botts, Ms. Crayton served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nelva Gonzales Ramos of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Experience

  • Advised an international real estate developer regarding the acquisition, phased development, leasing and management of a public-private, multi-use development project spanning 66 acres and including retail, non-profit, residential and public uses
  • Member of a team representing an international real estate investment trust on the disposition of a $1.16 billion portfolio, including disposition of a retail portfolio consisting of eight shopping centers across four states
  • Representation of REITs with respect to acquisition, disposition, development and management agreements for the purchase and sale of various retail and office projects including an approximately 800,000 retail shopping center in San Antonio, Texas, an approximately 480,000 square foot office building complex in Denver, Colorado and various portfolio properties across the country
  • Representation of landlords in negotiating and drafting commercial retail and office lease agreements including for shopping centers in Houston's Baybrook area, as well as for office and mixed-use projects in Washington, D.C.
