Matt Hilderbrand recently joined the firm as a Litigation associate in the firm’s Austin office.
Before joining Baker Botts, Matt was a litigation associate at another large international law firm, where he worked on a variety of complex matters in state and federal courts across the nation, including class-action and antitrust cases, contract disputes, administrative challenges, Fair Credit Reporting Act cases, and litigation involving residential mortgage-backed securities. His prior experience includes presenting oral argument; researching and drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda, and briefs; and managing discovery in both small and complex lawsuits.
Matt clerked for Judge Don R. Willett on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; Judge Allison J. Rushing on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit; and Judge E. Grady Jolly on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Matt received his J.D. summa cum laude from William & Mary Law School in Virginia. He served on law review and briefed several matters as part of the school's prestigious Appellate & Supreme Court Clinic.
