Griffin helps clients with a broad range of intellectual property related matters, with an emphasis on complex patent litigation in U.S. district courts. Griffin has experience in all phases of litigation, including involvement with patent jury trials on both the plaintiff and defense sides, oral argument of evidentiary issues during trial, daily exchanges of trial materials and related conferences, pre-trial disclosures, pre-trial and post-trial motion practice, fact and expert discovery, infringement and invalidity analysis, and damages-related analysis. Griffin’s litigation experience has involved a wide variety of technologies, including technologies relating to wireless telecommunications and related equipment, computer network environments, content streaming, insurance and annuity policy administration systems, and directional drilling guidance systems.
Griffin also has experience working with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Griffin challenges and defends patents in inter partes review (IPR) and post grant review (PGR) proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and he has experience preparing requests for ex parte reexamination (EPR). Griffin also has patent prosecution experience involving a variety of technologies including AI-based FOD detection, aerodynamic aircraft configurations, and assemblies for aerial spraying aircrafts.
Griffin also engages in pro bono matters, which includes volunteering at local general and housing-specific clinics.
During law school, Griffin served as a member of the Texas A&M Law Review and was a paid research assistant for two different professors.
Prior to law school, Griffin was a member of the University of Alabama’s D1 baseball team during his first three semesters of college and later earned a degree in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics.
