Overview

Ted Paris advises clients in a wide variety of industries, including oil and gas exploration and production, oilfield services and other energy-related industries. Drawing on his substantial experience, including over 25 years with Baker Botts and prior experience in public accounting, he helps guide clients through some of their most critical and complex life-cycle transactions, including initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, financings, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and business dispositions. He also counsels clients on complex corporate governance matters, internal and external investigations and public disclosure matters.

Mr. Paris has worked on transactions involving a wide variety of industries, including oil and gas exploration and production, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals, contract drilling, marine construction and other oilfield services, engineering and construction, shipping, waste management, information technology, physician practice management, pharmaceuticals, medical products distribution, manufacturing, industrial services and consumer products and services. He has assisted various issuers in preparing to go public through pre-IPO restructurings, split-offs, bridge loans and other early-stage financings and business combination transactions.

Mr. Paris also has substantial experience representing numerous parties in mergers and other acquisition transactions, including negotiated acquisitions and dispositions, controlled auctions, tender offers and related financing transactions. He also has substantial experience in public spin-off transactions, internal and external investigations and corporate governance and public disclosure matters.

Mr. Paris previously worked for a large independent public accounting firm as a certified public accountant.
