Baker Botts’ Global Antitrust Practice Advises American Industrial Partners in $920M Acquisition from Domtar

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 8, 2021 - Baker Botts L.L.P. announced today that American Industrial Partners (AIP) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Domtar Corporation’s Personal Care business for $920 million.

American Industrial Partners is an operationally oriented private equity firm that is distinctively focused on buying and improving industrial businesses with operations in the United States and Canada. The firm has deep roots in the industrial economy and has been active in private equity investing since 1989.

The Baker Botts Antitrust team, which provided counsel for AIP on this transaction, was led by partner Paul Cuomo, and included Catriona Hatton, Michael Bodosky, Adam Dawson and Sofia Doudountsaki. The firm represented AIP in a number of transactions last year.
