Overview

Eric Faragi's practice focuses on litigation and counseling clients in connection with intellectual property matters, particularly patent matters in high technology areas, as well as patent prosecution and portfolio management. A named inventor on four U.S. Patents, Eric has nearly a decade of experience as an engineer in the electronics industry which provides him with a keen ability to understand complex technologies as well as the business concerns of clients.

Eric is skilled in litigation of matters in high technology areas from complaint to appeal, leveraging his engineering background and work experience in the electronics industry. Technologies include: flash memory, semiconductor fabrication, liquid crystal displays, display drivers, antennas, cellular technologies, communications, video compression, magnetic recording media, and medical devices. Prior to his legal career, Eric worked as a senior staff engineer at Motorola, where he researched and developed advanced manufacturing technologies (including liquid crystal displays and interconnects, alternate shielding technologies, and consumer changeable housings) for next-generation cell phones and pagers.

Eric also represents pro bono clients in various family law matters for Her Justice (f/k/a inMotion), an organization which provides assistance to women who are the victims of domestic violence or who are otherwise impoverished. He received the John K. Geiger Award as part of inMotion's 2013 Commitment to Justice Awards ceremony for his work in representing low-income women in family law cases. Eric received the 2015 President's Pro Bono Service Award from the New York State Bar Association for the 12th Judicial District for his pro bono service in family law matters. This prestigious honor from NYSBA is awarded for outstanding pro bono contributions made by individual attorneys, law students, law firms, corporate counsel, or government offices. Eric received a Legal Team Award from Her Justice during its 2018 Commitment to Justice Awards ceremony for his work in representing a low-income family.
