Baker Botts Advises Lenders on the World's Most Advanced Waste to Energy Project in Abu Dhabi
Deal Description: On 28 June 2024, Marubeni Corporation, Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI) and the Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (JOIN) announced financial close for the groundbreaking waste to energy (WtE) facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The facility will be developed for Emirates Water & Electricity Company (EWEC) and Tadweer Group.
The plant aims to prevent a projected carbon emission of 1.1 million tonnes by processing 900,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste annually.
